With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we thought this would be a great time to share a few tips on caring for cut flowers.Imagine it's Valentine's Day and you've just received a glorious bunch of roses. You put them in your best vase and you stand back to admire them. You'd love to make them last as long as you possibly can, but other than keeping them out of direct sunlight, you're not sure what to do.Here are some tips on how to extend the shelf life of your roses: 1. Remove the roses from the vase and put them in a temporary container.2. Clean the vase by washing it thoroughly in water with household bleach.3.
Fill the vase with fresh water and add a half teaspoon of household bleach for each litre (16 fluid ounces) of water.4. Remove your roses from their temporary container and lay them flat on a counter top. 5. Remove any leaves which will show below the waterline in the vase.6. Cut about 20 mm (3/4 inch) from the base of each stem immediately before placing it in the vase.
This removes any air bubbles. 7. Don't place roses in drafts or direct sunlight, or near fruit, heaters, TVs or refrigerators.8. Change the water daily to extend the vase life of your roses. Freshly picked roses can last up to two weeks with a little extra care.Enjoy!.

HDTV stands for high definition television.
It contains images that have significantly higher details than normal televisions. Pixels in an HDTV product are usually square, smaller and are placed closer together, which results in higher visual detail.
There are a few varieties of HDTVs available, like HD flatpanel TVs, HD traditional projection TVs, and HD advanced microdisplays. HD traditional projection TVs offer larger screen sizes and lower prices, but they take up more space and are quite bulky. In addition, they have a thinner viewing angle than other forms of HDTV.
The HD flat panel TV is thin and light, and can hang on a wall. Although the majority of HDTVs are HD ready and provide the widest viewing angle and the highest contrast, these are available at a higher cost. The HD advanced microdisplays offer a lightweight design and advanced technology without the expense of a flat panel HDTV. They are HD ready and provide a big viewing angle, quality...

Sony LCD Projection TVs: Big News, Big Headache
New York City, New York (ContentDesk) April 20, 2006 -- Rear-projection screens have received rave reviews recently as a less-expensive alternative to flat screen TVs or plasma TVs. These rear-projection TVs still have a large sticker price, up to $3000, but many consumers complain that the screen quality and technology is not as advanced.Consumers that have been convinced to buy the new product on the block are complaining that their Sony-brand rear projection TVs do not have stellar performance. Consumers have complained that their Sony LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TVs have screen malfunctions and buzzing noises. Allegedly, some say the large (41 inch plus) screen becomes pixelated or bleeds, some have problems with buzzing sounds, other have problems with the lamp/bulb or the TV turning on. A law firm is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Sony on behalf of consumers who purchased certain rear projection LCD television sets (RPTV).

Cheap LCD TVs
As time passes, the prices of LCD TVs are going nowhere but down. A few years back, there were only a few name brands such as Sony, LG, Philips, Samsung, etc. But there are several new entrants in the LCD TV market such as Westinghouse, Maxent, Norcent, Syntax, Olevia, etc. These new companies are pricing TVs lower than the established brands, sometimes even by as much as $1000. Naturally this is creating a furor in the market as even big names are being forced to pull their prices down to keep up with the competition.
The question always asked when buying a LCD TV is, why not go for a cheaper brand if it provides the same quality for a $1000 less? The purpose of a LCD TV is to produce high quality images.
Newer brands (read cheaper brands) force themselves in the market by lowering their prices, but their quality is rarely up to snuff. They may not be able to compare with the images produced by, say, a Sharp or a Sony. There are many nuances in pictures like contrast...

Aliens?
"The possibility of a purely psychological explanation is illusory, for a large number of observations point to a natural phenomenon, or even a physical one - for instance, those explicable by reflections from 'temperature inversions' in the atmosphere. Despite its contradictory statements, the American Air Force, as well as the Canadian, considers the sightings to be 'real', and have set up special bureaus to collect the reports. The 'disks', however, the objects themselves, do not behave in...
