My search for reality in TV revealed satellite TV and TV?s future, now.
I never dreamed of TV becoming amazing again - I was the guy with 12 o'clock blinking green on his VCR. Yes, I said VCR. So getting the hang of today's TV wasn't a piece of cake.
Recently, during an emergency replace-ectomy of my dying Zenith behemoth, I realized I was in deep trouble. Never mind DVD. Who knew of progressive scan or digital convergence, aspect ratios, digital comb filters, anti-glare coatings and so many lines of resolution?
I knew about the tv satellite dish, but this was a long way from the TV I was nurtured on?
I remember seeing Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show gyrating inside a black & white-glass-globe-picture-tube about as small as the window on a front-load washer.
...Man did the warm glow of that box-at-the-end-of-a-wire get me excited.
Oh, I watched plenty alright! And you know what? I can't ever remember complaining about getting up from the couch to change the channel... or to adjust the antenna....

The Best Plasma TVs
Plasma TVs are the hottest thing in home entertainment, offering a crystal clear image with high quality resolution. The monitor is often less than a few inches thick, so it doesn't need as much space as its traditional counterparts. It uses less electricity than a regular television and, unlike the old CRT TVs, there is no image disturbance if the monitor is placed near large speakers. But with so many plasma TVs on the market, how do you know which is the best one to buy? Firstly, you should decide on your budget. Knowing how much you have to spend will definitely be a good place to start. Plasma TVs generally start at around $700.00 and can go as high as $4,000.00, so it's important to know what you can afford before you start shopping.
Once you've worked out how much you want to spend, you need to decide whether you want your new plasma television to consist of more than just a plasma display or if you want it to have a TV tuner, as well. The pricier plasma TVs will have a...

Everything for today's infant who goes places.Every year the top designers unveil their latest fashion creations for the little people of the world. This doesn't mean fashion designs for the Warwick Davises and Billy Bartys of the world, nor those who don't make in a year what Paris Hilton leaves for a tip after lunch at Sardi's. New Ways to Use Old Christmas Cards
Forty years ago when I was growing up on our dairy farm in Wisconsin, my mother always saved the Christmas cards she had received in the mail. In those days, people sent many more Christmas cards than they do now. Today, I still find myself saving the cards that I get each Christmas. When the holiday season is over, I take them down off the dining-room side of our kitchen cabinets. I look at each one and think about the person who sent it.
Then I tuck the cards into Christmas canisters...
